Description: The mineral was found as an orange brown epitaxial crystalline crust on augite. The mineral originates from agglutinate related to alkali basalts of the Rothenberg. This mineral was never been proposed to IMA because “the end-member formula NaCa2[Mg3Fe2Ti](Si4Al4O22)F2 derived based on the current classification and nomenclature scheme for the amphibole-supergroup minerals does not reflect real Si:Al ratio at the tetrahedral sites. However, any other idealized formula with Si:Al=6:2 and species-determining Fe3+, Ti and F would be not electrically neutral. For this reason, as well as owing to the scarce amount of available substance (insufficient for a complete characterization of the mineral, including direct determination of the Fe2+: Fe3+ ratio) a new mineral proposal was not submitted to the Commission on New Minerals, Nomenclature and Classification of the International Mineralogical Association.” The same normalization issues as reported by Aksenov and Chukanov (2016) is also evident in the work done on oxo-magnesio-hastingsite by Zaitsev et al. (2013) where neutrality of the formula has been achieved by adding a cFe3+ in the formaula that are not reflected in the empirical formula.
