| Abstract/Notes | A low diversity fauna of brachiopods is described from the top beds of the Whittaker Formation of the central Mackenzies, and the upper part of the Allen Bay Formation, Griffiths Island. The fauna of the two formations together total 10 species, although only two species are common to die two units. The faunas are dominated by the atrypid Spirigerina, and the rhynchonellids Ancillotoechia and Decorapitgnax. The faunas are correlated with the upper Wenlockian or lower Ludlovian, and are considered the equivalents of the shallow water Salopian or Sphaerirhynchia benthic communities. |
