| Abstract/Notes | Geometric parameters of the title compound, C16H14O2S, a chalcone derivative, are in the usual ranges. The C=C double bond has a trans configuration. The essentially planar molecules (r.m.s. deviation for all non-H atoms = 0.034 Å) crystallize in planes parallel to the (\overline{1}40) plane. The molecular conformation is stabilized by an O—H...O hydrogen bond. The investigated crystal was a non-merohedral twin with a ratio of the twin components of 0.254 (1):0.746 (1). |
