| Abstract/Notes | Abstract The present paper deals with new records of the seven coralline algae of the Ninniyur Formation which is considered to range from the Daman to Thanetian in age All these seven species, i e Spongiies sp 2 Rasser & Pillar 1999, Lithothamnion grahami, Mesophyllum obsitum, Mesophyllum koritzae, Leptophytum leave, Lithophyllum sp Johnson & Kaska, 1965, Axiophyllum paraphylloides are reported for the first time from the Indian successions, their palaeogeographic and palaeoecological significance is discussed | ||
