Lithology Description | Hilton (1996, p.236): THe Quartz Conglomerate Group in this section comprises approximately 15 m of micaceous pale greenish-gray and brown-purple, coarse-grained quartzose sandstone, and conglomerates with thin subordinate mudstones and siltstones. This unit is immediately overlain by the Tongwynlais Formation of the Lower Limestone Shale Group, marking the transition into marine carbonate lithologies. |
