Originally named for its (apparent) triclinic symmetry and its polymorphism with atacamite.
Synonym:
A synonym of Clinoatacamite
Originally thought to be a separate, triclinic polymorph of atacamite, clinoatacamite and paratacamite, and visually indistinguishable from the latter two.
Discredited 5 years after publication as twinned clinoatacamite (IMA Proposal 15-A).
Note that a small part of the lot that contained "anatacamite" was also sold in 2008 as paratacamite (Tony Nikischer information).
