Just look at Rio Tinto in Spain. The name itself comes from the orange/red tinted water as a result of natural reaction with the sulphide rocks of the region.

In isolation this may be the case, but the problem with climate breakdown is that it is happening on a rate that is orders of magnitude faster than geological changes in the past (and after a long period of relative stasis in which humans have evolved). Could be. In the opposite direction, this has occurred already several times during earth´s history (sudden cooling = impact winter). Such a sudden warming - I don´t know.
Anyways - nor ore specimens from Red Dog Mine in mindat! They are out there!!
