Photosuser gallery only?

This photo has a “user gallery only” designation, but it is not clear why or what I should do to clarify. Can somebody help with this? Thanks.

Hello Neal, I am neither a manager nor a reviewer but I consider your images far better than MANY on the mineral pages. If, under torture I was forced to find fault I would say I miss seeing a description of the specimen. I have no problem identifying the minerals in your images but I am a "seasoned field collector". If you get a response to your question please post it!!!

Hi Neal,

I was just looking at your user gallery photos, and Don beat me about mentioning the blank descriptions. I didn't review any of them, but this may be why some weren't fully approved. The descriptions really help folks who aren't familiar with the minerals shown.

I saw a couple that I would have approved, but let's wait to see if the original reviewer has a comment on them. I may have missed something.

Now in the general gallery. I'm a Pakistan reviewer but I did not classify it "User Gallery Only".

Neal, I like very much your photos but also miss some description and details only appreciable with the specimen in hand.

I've just logged on to see the entire recent thread messages filled with Neil's complaints about user-gallery only images.

This is pretty much spamming. Please do not do this, it does not make me want to take my time to figure out what is going on here.

I agree with this perspective.

To that end I have closed the majority of the threads for now.

Having looked at all of the photos I would note that the image quality is overall good, however, many are lacking any form of description.

I personally feel even a simple description of what we are looking at should be added to all uploaded images as a matter of course.

It doesn't need to be an essay, just a sentence or two to describe it.

To Neal Luppescu - rather than filling the board with multiple threads, if you find pictures with user gallery only status rather create one thread and list the images in question.

That will likely mean replying to your own thread with one questioned image per reply, but it will be easier for managers / photo approval experts and keep the board tidier.

provide the link to your User Gallery Only (= UGO) and ask for help only once.
