GeneralPentagonite Care

16th Jan 2023 18:56 UTCJeremy Szekeres OP

Hi all,
I am thinking about purchasing a Pentagonite specimen, but there seems to be a lack of information online about Pentagonite. I just wanted to know if there is any special care that needs to be taken with Pentagonite (like keeping it out of sunlight, avoiding contact with water, etc) that I should know before purchasing.
Thank you for any help

None that I'm aware of, although they can be rather delicate.

Jason is correct. In my experience pentagonite will not fade in light, etc. However keep it covered because the delicate nature of a good pentagonite makes it a challenge to clean if dusty.

In addition, be sure the specimen is actually pentagonite and not cavansite. Because pentagonite general brings a higher price than its more common polymorph cavansite, cavansites are often labeled as pentagonite by ignorant and/or unscrupulous sellers.
