I have added the name biotite + locality as Langesundsfjorden ( both were missing).
André: Please add description of the sample + correct the size.
Lepidomelane, now an obsolete name, was in earlier litterature used for black micas from the nepheline syenite pegmatites in the Langesundsfjorden area, Norway ( f.ex used by Brøgger in 1890). In modern time however, the black mica is usually called biotite, especially when not analyzed. An investigation of black micas from several localities in the Langesundsfjorden area showed these to mostly be annite (Larsen 1998). When not analyzed it is thus recommend to use the name biotite. This is now common practice among Scandinavian collectors. It's not necessary to use the name lepidomelane.
