Mineral PhotographyHow many micro-mineral photographers in the North East of the USA?

I've been interested to know how many stacking micro-mineral photograph practitioners there are in the northeastern USA. In particular, I'd like to solicit good stacked photos of Franklin and Ogdensburg, NJ minerals for publication and am trying to get an informal workshop together in Franklin sometime this spring.

Maybe by the April 25-26 FRANKLIN / OGDENSBURG, NEW JERSEY & the SUPER DIG at Sterling Hill Mining Museum weekend will have thawed out by then and be a good time?

The workshop experience could also extend to macro photographers. Lenses with manual focus can be used in image stacking without a rail system. That's how my son and I frequently shoot specimens in UV, although we usually use a machine-driven rail system. We focus on the front edge, several intermediate areas, and the back edge. The results yield an image with reasonable sharpness, front to back.

So, am I right in assuming that there are no mineral people in the Washington, DC area who use image stacking?
