Biggest MINERAL show in Japan, Ikebukuro show is coming! December 6 to December 10 in the Sunshine City, Ikebukuro, Tokyo, Japan.

Last year we had a microscope in our booth, that was the only booth equipped for micro mineralogy and it was busy all the time.

This show is over now, it was a great success, even I had a good show and my first direct experience with the 7,3 earthquake during the show hours. It was like getting a free ride in a amusement park.

Glad the show went well, everyone looks happy. Were any displays or dealer setups disrupted by the quake? I remember my meager collection getting tossed in a 5.3 quake back in the late '70s, but cinder blocks and wood planks don't make for the most stable shelving.

this was a 7.3 earthquake and it was visible, building was swaying and one of the neons was going like a pendulum,that was because it was not properly installed. No mineral specimens got even flipped or moved and I never had to get off my chair. If this happened back in Montreal half of the houses would probably tumble.

One guy had heavy meteorite slabs on his top shelf and they came crashing down. One girl holding her stomach and complaining of feeling seasick. Nothing serious.
