Fakes & Frauds"Maricite is considered sacred and is esteemed in cultures around the world!"

Dear Franz;

Nonsense is one thing; this guy has a SANITY problem. Several questions SHOULD come to mind, IMMEDIATELY: 1) What mateorite is shaped that way & is he implying that the ENTIRE Rapid River phosphate deposit is a meteorite? 2)How can a mineral, ONLY found in the Yukon, be regarded as sacred, ALL OVER THE WORLD IN MANY CULTURES, considering that part of the world was opened up only 300 or so yrs ago? Did the Egyptians mine that area? Did the Celts estabilish a settlement there? Did Attila have training camps, there? 3) How many meteorites have been OBVIOUSLY ground to a bullet shape? NATURALLY?

I won't get into the possible FRAUD side of this; I'll just politely assume he spent too much on booze this month to affords his MEDS!

Your friend, Steve

I had wondered where that old cork went...

Too much booze? Rather too much google...

If you do a search for maricite you actually find it both in Big Fish River and in meteorites! (Not noted in MinDat.)

You however have to admire all those various cultures for managing to discover those micrometer size grains...

The Big Fish River locality only has a few second hand references. How about a description to avoid things like this?

I at least added references for the type minerals.

My boots aren't high enough to avoid getting messy on this one! Perhaps a body condom for those brave enough to wallow in this muck.

Research Results:

- Yes, Maricite occurs in meteorites: only one documented - Bishunpur meteorite from India.

- Yes, it assumed a bullet-like shape; however, the masses are on the order of and could ot possibly have been seen, collected and held in high regard by anyone until perhaps a decade or so ago!!

Indicated conditions:

- Intentional fraud! The party(ies) involved are good on doing their research.

P.S.: I added the meteorite and it's species to fill in the gap for extraterrestrial Maricite.

I've added the only two additional meteorite occurrences for maricite that I've found . Mt Howe HOW 88403 has phosphate inclusions in the 50 to 150 micron size range. Those in Cape York rarely exceed 100 microns.

Thanks Jim.

Now, who doubted that Maricite could enhance the crystal consciousness? ;)
