Most (probably all) ludjibaite samples that came to the market after the description of Hanke (1995) were found to be conichalcite. As described by Wendel and Markl (1999) only one confirmed occurrence is reported, in which ludjibaite had formed as the result of bird dung reacting with copper bearing species.
