Species: | Hydrohalite |
Formula: | NaCl · 2H2O |
Comments: | Konnerup-Madsen (1979) describes liquid inclusions in quartz in the Farsund granite. Hydrohalite occurs as a phase in the liquid inclusions below - 7 C degrees, and dissociate again at - 7 to 0,8 degrees C. Hydrohalite, will thus (theoretically) occure naturallly in the upper parts of the granite during cold winter months. |
