Baryte
Formula: BaSO4
Description: The occurence is a baryte vein, containing mostly massive baryte with crystal lined vugs. The crystals are normally thin,square plates where the individual crystal can be several cm on the edge. A second generation w/ smaller transparent crystals are found on brown calcite.
Beidellite ?
Formula: (Na,Ca0.5)0.3Al2((Si,Al)4O10)(OH)2 · nH2O
Description: Described as beidellite by Barth (1940). According to Isachsen & Rosenqvist (1948) it is probably a mixture of montmorillonite and " bauxite-minerals"

Description: Vugs in the baryte is frequently lined/filled with calcite. Crystals do rarely exceed 1 cm

Description: Found as crystal veins cutting the baryte, also as crystalline masses between baryte crystals. Crystals rarely exceeds 1 cm. Dark blue green crystal crusts on white baryte can produce some strikingly beautiful pieces.

Hydrohalite
Formula: NaCl · 2H2O
Description: Konnerup-Madsen (1979) describes liquid inclusions in quartz in the Farsund granite. Hydrohalite occurs as a phase in the liquid inclusions below - 7 C degrees, and dissociate again at - 7 to 0,8 degrees C. Hydrohalite, will thus (theoretically) occure naturallly in the upper parts of the granite during cold winter months.
