Outcrop of blueschist-facies mica schists with a local re-equilibration in greenschist facies (Clarea complex, Ambin massif) near Grange della Valle. These rocks mainly consist of quartz, albite, white micas (phengite and paragonite), chlorite, glaucophane, chloritoid ± biotite ± garnet. Accessory minerals are rutile, zoisite, ilmenite, and titanite.

Uranium prospect in a fine-grained metaconglomerate hosting a uraninite-sulphide mineralisation.

In a crystallographic study on Italian uraninites, 25 samples from three localities of the Ambin Massif (Grange della Valle, Molaretto, and Monte Seguret) were investigated: their average lattice parameter is a = 5.474 Å, the highest for Italian uraninites (Garavelli, 1962).
