wDeposit: Discovery year: 1870's near-surface pockets in shearzone-veins in sheeted quartz monzonite. In the 1870's rich Ag chloride ore was taken from the mine(emmons p. 83). This ore was in near surface pockets. Tunnels, pit, and shallow inclines, inaccessible in 1908 ; info.src : 3 field observ

Geology: Quartz monzonite is cut by numerous fractures which hive it a sheeted appearance. Several narrow quartz veins are emplaced parallel to the sheeting.
