Intrusion-hosted Cu-Ni-(PGE) deposit with high levels of V-Ti-Fe mineralizations, located in the Anning fault zone in the middle section of the Sichuan-Yunnan rift. The intrusion is confined at its top and bottom by Permian basalts, with thin layers of fine grained gabbro at the contacts. It exhibits remarked igneous layered structure, and can be divided from the bottom to the top into six petrofacies in three rhythmic cycles. The first cycle, 331 m in thickness, consists of the facies of peridotite-plagioclase pyroxenite, plagioclase peridotite-plagioclase pyroxenite and gabbro. The second cycle, 176 m thick, is composed of the facies of plagioclase-bearing peridotite-plagioclase pyroxenite and the diabase-gabbro facies. The third cycle, over 100 m in thickness, is composed mainly of plagioclase pyroxenite and diabase-gabbro. Generally, the lower part is dominated by peridotite facies while pyroxenite is more important in the upper portion. Syenite intrusives are known in the late stages. Layers of titanium ore occur mostly in the middle to upper parts of the intrusion and iron ores are mostly restricted to the middle to lower parts. Platinum mineralization, which is more or less related to sulphides, is mainly found in plagioclase pyroxenite and peridotite in the lower part of the intrusion.
