Discovered in 1948 and developed in 1951. It closed down in 1960 after producing 15,600 tons of ore.
In 1960 Nesbitt LaBine Uranium Mines Ltd. amalgamated with Gunnar Mines Ltd. to form Gunnar Mining Limited.
Pitchblende is associated with three faults (Contact fault, Eagle fault, and Riley fault). It occurs in cross-fractures 0.5-2 inches wide, and pods and stringers associated with calcite and hematite as well as the metallic minerals noted.
