Opemiska Copper Mines Ltd mined a deposit consisting of a series of veins occupying fractures in gabbro. The ore mineral was chalcopyrite accompanied by lesser amounts of pyrite and magnetite. The gangue minerals were quartz and calcite. A shaft was first sunk on the property in 1936 but the mine was not put into production until 1954.
Note that the name of the mine, Opemiska, differs from that of nearby Lake Opemisca.
