The most important mercury mine in the Königsberg district. The mine was working the so-called "Elf-Uhr-Gang" (hour eleven vein) which was rich in mercury ore and on several veinlets. The vein had a thickness up to 2 m.

Mining activities started around 1725. After several ups and downs the mine closed around 1865. Last exploration works were done in 1934 but without success.

The coordinates given are those of the Ludwigs adit, one of the major adits of the mine
