Polymetallic (silver-lead-zinc with associated indium and cadmium) veins and stockworks, located along the western junction of the Daxinganling orogenic belt and the Songliao Basin. The deposit area is 6 km long in east-west direction and 200-1000 m wide from north to south. It contains more than 40 ore bodies, hosted in Permian and Jurassic rocks, tuffaceous sandstones, slates, tuffaceous clastic rocks, marbles, arkoses, pelitic siltstones, lavas and bioclastic limestones. Most of them are controlled by EW-and NE-trending faults. Both Hercynian and Yanshannian age granitoids occur: the Meng'entaolegai granite (K-Ar isotopic age: 286 Ma, U-Pb age: 235 Ma) that covers an area of 240 km2, and the Duerji granite complex (U-Pb zircon age: 150 Ma), consisting of coarse-grained biotite-plagioclase granite, granodiorite, moyite, alaskite and fine-grained biotite granite, that covers an area of 150 km2. The deposit formed at temperatures are 140°C to 340°C and is closely related to the Yanshannian Duerji granite.
Sphalerite in this deposit is strongly enriched in cadmium and indium; individual minerals of these elements have not been found, though.
It contains >500 t In, with an average grade of 118 ppm, as well as 0.16 Mt Pb, 0.3 Mt Zn, 3.0 kt Sn, 2.0 kt Ag, and 1.8 kt Cd. In the ore field, orebodies mainly occur as polymetallic sulfide veins controlled by E-W-trending faults.
