Named in honor of Luan Shiwei (August 1928, Zizhou, Shaanxi Province, China - 13 September 2012, Chengdu, China), professor of geology in the Chengdu College of Science and Technology. A known Chinese pegmatitic petrologist.
The hydroxyl analogue of fluorluanshiweiite.
Luanshiweiite is also the potassium analog at the interstratified cations and OH-dominant analog at the attached anion site of voloshinite.
