Named in honor of Natalya Vasil'evna Frolova (Наталья Васильевна Фролова) (October 1907, Baku, Russian Empire (now Azerbaijan) - 18 July 1960, Moscow, USSR), geologist at Irkutsk University and researcher of the Precambrian complexes of Siberia. Pavlovskyite is named after her husband.
