An Fe deposit/group of claims/prospect located in sec. 1, T4S, R25E, and in sec. 7, T4S, R26E, MDM, 1.2 km (4,000 feet) W of Iron Mountain (3) (coordinates of record), and W of Iron LAke, at an elevation of 10,000 feet, on private (patented) land within a National Forest wilderness area (Ansel Adams Wilderness). Discovered in 1883. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 to 500 meters (2 MAS-MILS files).
Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
