A Mo-Pb-W-Au deposit with underground workings, located in the center E½ sec. 14, T1N, R14E, on the lower east slopes of the Day Peaks, 1¾ miles SW of the Copper Cities open-pit mine and about 2½ miles WNW of Miami, on private (patented) or federal land.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in the Pinal Schist that strikes E-W and dips vertically. the deposit is mostly covered by diabase talus. It is comprised of several small, molybdenum-bearing veins that crop out on the east flank of the Day Peaks. They are structurally similar to many other small gold-bearing veins that crop out to the NE between Day Peaks and Copper Cities. The strongest mineralization was along two narrow eastward-striking fracture zones in diabase near the edge of the dacite that caps the Day Peaks. Ore control was two narrow, east-striking fracture zones in diabase near the edge of dacite that caps Days Peak. The outcrops are poorly exposed because of the abundant talus from the dacite outcrops higher on the slope. Stoltzite with 9% Mo02 occurs here.
The vein matter is completely oxidized and consists of honeycombed and drusy quartz, coated with crusts or sprinkled with tiny crystals of stolzite. Some cavities contain clusters of large plates of wulfenite.
Workings include an adit about 100 feet long.
