Deposit: Filling of vesicles and amygdules in mafic flows. The woodward ranch is a commercial collecting site.
Development: Intermittent operations by mineral collecters
Geology: Plume and moss agates are common in the sheep canyon and cottonwood springs basalts, banded pastel-colored agates occur in the crossen trachyte, bloodstone is common in potato hill andesite, and opal and amethyst occur in some basalts.
