Boondelbah Island was gazetted as a fauna Reserve (Boondelbah Nature Reserve) in January 1960.
The island is located 1.4 kms south of Cabbage Tree Island and has an area of approximately 9.3 hectares.
The island is an important habitat for the Gould’s Petrel (Pterodroma leucoptera leucoptera).
