Named after a 40 foot high, 400 foot long, 40 foot wide malachite and azurite stained cliff at the site. The prospect is located 1.2 kilometres south-east of the Bellbird mine, at the southern extent of the J shaped syncline which holds the major mines in this area. Noted by Petrocarb Exploration NL in 1972, but it appears only explored by KGL in 2015.

The prospect forms a prominent ridge of laterised ferruginous schist, flanked by knotted andalusite schist, with minor quartz veins, intruded by narrow pegmatites.

The prospect contains an upper leached zone, then supergene copper enrichment. Below this is a steeply plunging massive magnetite-chlorite
copper rich lenses, dominated by chalcopyrite, some altered to bornite and chalcocite, minor pyrite, and rare native copper. The chalcopyrite comes as disseminated, veined, stringers, semi massive, and massive. Individual lenses are up to 23 metres wide, by 100 metres long, extending 350 metres down plunge. Collectively they cover a length of at least 650 metres.

Footwall mineralisation is associated with quartz-garnet-magnetite, with chalcopyrite, and trace pyrite, as stringers and semi massive. The hanging wall contains disseminated and massive chalcopyrite and pyrite, with intensely magnetite altered rock, associated with pink carbonate. KGL also notes a west zone, being 1.75 metres wide of disseminated and stringer chalcopyrite and pyrite in garnet-chlorite carbonate altered magnetite host rock. A further similar deposit is 11.4 metres further west. Drill core photographs indicate the bright pink carbonate would make attractive specimens, but are unlikely to ever be seen.

Garnet areas in neighbouring garnet-chlorite schist, and biotite-garnet-chlorite schist, can consist of 50% volume of the rock as garnet, with individual crystals up to 1 cm across.
