Located 5 kilometres west of the former Kurnalpi town site, and a similar distance north of the Kanowna-Kurnalpi Road. The modern Brilliant prospect is a little to the east. Scottish Lass is often mentioned in conjunction with the Nil Desperandum lease nearby, with the same ownership. 2 x 24 acres. Scottish Lass was active from 1894 to 1901.
The original holder in 1894 was McFarlane (surname), but late that year it had been sold to Colonel North. E.J. Ingpen floated in London the Hampton Hill Gold Mines Company in 1896. At least four shafts were on the property, on a reef 3 feet wide. H.O. Blake Lane was mine manager, then W. Fraser (J.P). W.H.C Lovely was engineer. The reef was said to contain mustard gold.
William Tilly Cook (20) was killed within the mine in Novermber 1897, when he went to investigate an un-exploded dynamite charge, when it then exploded.
The company purchased the five head battery at the Success mine for crushing ore from Scottish Lass. By 1901, the mine was on tribute.
