A former lode Au-Ag occurrence/mine located in sec. 2, T30S, R40E, MDM, about 2.3 km SSW of Randsburg and about 1.8 km E of Government Peak, on private (patented) land (located claim). Discovered in 1896. Owned by Glamis Gold Inc. (100%), Canada (1996). Operated by the Rand Gold Mining Company, California (1996). First modern production was in 1987. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.

Local rocks include Precambrian rocks, undivided, unit 2 (Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges)

Workings include surface and underground openings. The modern mine is an open pit.

Production statistics: Year: 1993 (fiscal year 1993 (07-1992-06/1993): 49,888 Troy ounces (1,551,690 grams) Au. Year: 1994 (fiscal year 1994 (07/1993-06/1994): 81,134 Troy ounces (2,523,550 grams) Au. Year: 1995 (total year 1995): 67,950 Troy ounces (2,113,482 grams) Au. Year: 1995 (07-1995 to 12/1995): 29,814 Troy ounces (927,319 grams) Au. Year: 1996 (total year 1996): 85,762 Troy ounces (2,667,497 grams) Au. 1996 total ore mined: 8,840,600 short tons.

Production records combined the Yellow Aster, Baltic, Lamont Gold production for FY years 1993-1995. 1996 production records, also combined, were for the full year 1996.
