Colour: white
Description: Component of the gneiss.
Almandine
Formula: Fe2+3Al2(SiO4)3
Habit: trapezohedral
Colour: maroon
Description: Grains in gneiss to 2-3 mm. Aluminous schist/gneiss hosted garnet in Connecticut is nearly pure almandine based on many XRF tests.

Habit: tabular (voids)
Description: Tabular voids in zeolites from naturally dissolved crystals to about 1 cm.
