An old tin mine, started in the 17th century and worked until 1720, reworked from 1752 until 1762 and started again in 1777. By continuing the adit, a silver-bearing vein was opened up and the mine began to produce silver and cobalt ores. More silver was found in the Wunderliche Köpfe adit, which was included in the sett in 1780, but the deposits were of a limited extent and soon exhausted, leading the mine to direct interest to the tin reserves again. In 1787, the Jacobs Hilfe Mine and the Schwarze Binge were included and new shafts were sunk to raise ore from the old workings. Most of the ore, however, was of inferior quality and did not pay the cost for its production. In 1796, the Schwarze Binge was abandoned and work was concentrated on the Wunderliche Köpfe adit. At the Zigeunerstolln, which was acquired in 1800, only prospection work was carried out. Until 1812, the Wunderliche Köpfe adit had been driven to a length of 550 m, but failed to open up any promising veins. Work still continued in the following years, but without much success, and the mine had to close in 1818.
The mine worked on the following veins:
- Blauer Flacher
- Friedrich Jacob Hilfe Morgengang
- Michaelis Spat
- Neuglück Flacher
- Unvermutet Glück Flacher
- Wunderliche Köpfe Flacher
- Wunderliche Köpfe Morgengang
- Zigeuner Flacher
Note: Not to be confused with the St Michaelis adit.
