Sedimentary-exhalative (SEDEX) type cobalt-copper deposit with late hydrothermal reformation. The shallow-seated sulphide ore bodies are hosted in boron- and carbon-rich clays intercalating Early Proterozoic quartzite and siliceous rocks. Stratiform orebodies of the Dahenglu deposit are ∼10–35 m thick, 360–1,400 m long, and are largely hosted by micaceous phyllite.
Palaeoproterozoic Jiao-Liao-Ji orogenic belt (JLJOB) in the Eastern Block of the North China Craton. The orebody is hosted in the phyllite of the Dalizi Formation at the bottom of the Laoling Group. Northeast of the mine, the Archean basement displays an age of 2522 Ma. Numerous Mesozoic magmatic rocks intruded into the basement and Paleoproterozoic sediments.
Generally, the Dahenglu Cu-Co deposit was divided into two types of orebodies. The No. I orebody, identified by its high Co content, exhibits considerable dimensions, with a controlled length of about 1340 m, width of 120–495 m, and thickness of 6–146 m. In contrast, the No. II orebodies, depicted by low Co content, are relatively small, featuring a length of 1040 m and a width of 3–31 m. The average grade of Co content for No. I orebody is 0.054 % and for No. II orebody is 0.054 %, respectively.
