Pyrite-rich, stratabound Zn-Cu sulphide deposit, consisting of four individual, ruler-shaped ore bodies over a length of ca. 2 km. A total of 1.85 Mt of ore with 20% S, 0.13% Cu and 0.14% Zn was produced, resulting in a pyrite concentrate with 49% S, 44% Fe, 0.4% Cu and 0.4% Zn.
The ore consists of 1-5 mm pyrite grains in a matrix of quartz/hornblende/K-feldspar/plagioclase/chlorite/garnet.
During the period 1894-1921 the mine was worked by the Bossmo Grube company, 1926-29 by two private persons and during 1932-37 by the employees of the mine with support from the Norwegian state.
Reserves are estimated to be 700 Kt.
Approximately 500m north of this mine a fenced in adit can be seen at the LiDAR map at 66.3382758,14.0845102, but it is unclear if there is relationship with this mine.
