Granite-hosted deposits in the Taoshan complex, a composite granitic batholith with an outcrop area of about 1100 km2, which is composed of more than 10 granitic plutons of Indosinian and Yanshanian ages. The complex intruded Sinian-Cambrian schists and gneisses that are more than 7 km thick. Fault-related basins in the area are filled by Late Cretaceous-Tertiary conglomerates, sandstones and shales that are up to 2.5 km thick and rest unconformably on the Sinian-Cambrian metamorphosed rocks and Indosinian migmatites. The district is traversed by several NE-trending high-angle faults and fracture zones, comprising a multitude of individual reverse faults with variable widhts of 1 to 10 m. The ore field comprises more than 10 deposits and occurrences, most of which are adjacent to one of the regional high-angle faults.
