Located in the Northern Broken Hill Block.
Vein varies from a few inches to three feet in width.
A hydrothermal metamorphic base metal deposit.
The Lubra Mine operated between 1883 and 1889 and its operation reached down to a depth of 420 feet with drives branching out from the 60, 240, 320 and 420 foot levels.
The main ore consisted of silver chlorides, mainly in the form of chlorargyrite, native silver and some malachite in a gangue of goethite and siderite. In all the value of metal recovered from 88 tons of ore extracted from this operation was in the vicinity of ₤10,000 and so its shareholders probably had a loss of around ₤50,000 as a result of investing in this mine.
