Fractured altered rock type gold deposit, hosted in migmatite in the hanging wall of the Gezhen auriferous shear zone.
This gold deposit was discovered during the gold rush in the Hainan Island during 1988–1991 and has been mined underground since 1997. The combined proven gold reserves and historical gold production are about 22 t at 3.5 g/t.
