Sandstone-hosted roll-front uranium deposit, consisting of tabular and lensoid orebodies hosted in coarse to medium grained arkoses of the Lower to Middle Jurassic Shuixigou Group. The orebodies are up to 6 m thick and up to 500 m long. Alteration includes hematitization and limonitization and is well developed. An obvious zonation is observed downdip: (1) brown-yellowish, intensely altered sandstone, composed mainly of limonite disseminated in rock debris; (2) light yellow and variegated red coloured, weakly altered sandstone, containing hematite and goethite; (3) dark grey to greyish white mineralized sandstone, consisting of clay minerals, feldspar and quartz and containing uranium ores; and (4) unaltered sandstone, enriched in organic matter and containing unaltered low-valency iron minerals.
