An open pit gold mine. The ores contain economic values of mercury and also significant amounts of thallium.
The major ore body (No. I) is strictly controlled by the F1 Fault, and filled in the center of the fault zone and disseminated in the surrounding strata that adjoin the F1 fault. It occurs as platy or lentoid in the form. The strike of it is E–W trending, and the dip is south, with the dip angle from 15° to 25°. The length of this ore body is over 1700 m and extend over 500 m along the dip. The thickness of the ore body can reach to 0.56–25.08 m (Li, 2013). It is mainly composed of calcareous clay rock, bioclastic limestone, and their breccia, and some veins and veinlets of calcite, quartz, pyrite, realgar and clay minerals.
Carlin type gold deposit.
