A large specimen illustrating typical SW fluorescence of baryte (grayish white) and calcite from the Sterling mine. Baryte from the nearby deposits of Franklin, NJ, typically fluoresces more yellowish than this. Specimen was attributed to the 700 level, East Vein hanging wall, and was purchased from A.V. Massey in 1992. Child photo shows specimen in white light.
