Mordenite. There is a variety of Mordenite called "Arduinite" in honor of the 18th century Veronese naturalist Pietro Arduino which was quarried from the Valle dei Zuccanti, Vicentino, Veneto (now virtually untraceable on site). The appearance is characteristic: fibrous aggregates with brick-red rays, associated with usually spathic whitish Calcite, in this case also in distinct crystals, in a very weathered gray-greenish basalt matrix. Simone Citon Collection and photo.
