12.4 x 8.5 x 6.2 cm. An absolutely stellar pair of Manganoan Calcite crystals, on Quartz, from the famous mining district of Dal'negorsk. Both Calcites are nearly 5 cm across, a light pink color, and they have superb luster. The lower crystal completely encases the Quartz stalactite, while the upper crystal is attached to the Quartz along one side. This upper Manganoan Calcite is twinned, and this fabulous twinning plane creates an elongated diamond pattern that rings the crystal. Quite eye-catching. Of course, there is a strong fluorescence. Previously in the collection of Gene Meieran, before it entered the Herb Obodda collection.
