“8.4 x 7.7 x 3.4 cm. The Wied Iron Spar District produced a plethora of classic specimens many years ago, and this is one of the best chalcopyrites among them that I have seen. The curved, stepped chalcopyrites reach an impressive 2.7 cm on edge, and they have a rich, brassy-gold color and good luster. The size and extent of the cluster is significant, and it rests on a matrix plate of galena coated by siderite crystals. There are even well-developed galena crystals on top of the siderites. This is a terrific and vintage German specimen. Note that we are basing this locality information on photos in MINDAT, to which this looks similar. Kay's label says "Georg Mine" but gave a different state in Germany. Ex Kurt Scholer (1906). Ex Kay Robertson Collection.
