“Large monazite-(Ce), 15 x 10 x 8 cm, probably the largest crystal from Connecticut and the first seen from this locality since 1933. Weighs 3.5 pounds. Please let me know of large monazite-(Ce) crystals found elsewhere in the world. A chip of monazite was analyzed. Collected by Anthony J. Albini, Ray Meyers and Curtis Meyers who hand pried it out on May 19, 2012 from new excavation adjacent to 1933 trench. Obtained with permission from owner. Note, site is closed private property.
