Type Occurrence of Yixunite
General Appearance of Type Material:
Intimately associated with damiaoite. They occur as globules (product of complexes in hydrothermal solution), 1-2 mm in diameter.

Geological Setting of Type Material:
Cobalt- and copper-bearing platinum ore vein of a contact metasomatic deposit (a contact zone of pyroxenite with plagioclasite).
