About Lamproite
A poorly defined group of potassic to ultramafic, dark-colored hypabyssal or extrusive, volcanic to pyroclastic rocks, usually in dykes and pipes. A group name for such rocks rich in potassium and magnesium; also, any rock in that group, such as madupite, orendite, fitzroyite, verite, cedricite, or wyomingite.

Mineralogy of Lamproite
Non-essential minerals - these minerals are common, sometimes major components, but are not always present:
Amphibole > Richterite | Na(NaCa)Mg5(Si8O22)(OH)2 |
Feldspar > Alkali Feldspar > Sanidine | K(AlSi3O8) |
Feldspathoid > Leucite | K(AlSi2O6) |
Mica > Phlogopite | KMg3(AlSi3O10)(OH)2 |
Olivine | Commonly used as a synonym for a member of the Fayalite-Forsterite Series, but more generally and properly ... |
Pyroxene > Clinopyroxene > Diopside | CaMgSi2O6 |
Pyroxene > Orthopyroxene > Enstatite | Mg2Si2O6 |
