Mina da Argimela (Mina da Argemela), Barco, Covilhã, Distrito de Castelo Branco, Portugal
A tin mine, abandoned around 1960. Owned by Geomine (Belgium). Located near Barco.
Multistage rare-element, volatile-rich microgranite, representing the subvolcanic expression of a high-Na/Li/P/F/REE peraluminous pegmatitic magma. The microgranite is the mixture of two components: a crystal "mush" (quartz, albite, phengite) injected from below through feeder dykes and an overprinting highly evolved component (Li, F, P, Be, Sn, Nb-rich), analog to a rare-element pegmatititic magmatitic component, acting as a lubricant for the ascending "mush".
