A magnesite occurrence located in the center S½ sec. 25, in the SE¼ sec. 34 and in the S½ sec. 35, T4S, R3E, MDM, 1.1 km (0.7 mile; 3,500 feet) SE of Cedar Mountain (coordinates of record), along the E slope of Cedar Mountain Ridge, on private land. Owned by the K. D. Winship estate. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
The property in sec. 25 was worked by lessees in 1917, who prospected and performed some development work. Some of the larger patches in sec. 34 were worked at the Magnesia Mine. Transportation would be difficult to these areas since they lie in a rather deep canyon, a branch of the Arroyo del Valle. BIM stated that there were no minerals in S½ sec. 34.
Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan melange.
Workings include some prospecting and development work.
